Date: August 21, 2021 (Sat)Trip Report #: none (I did not originally create a trip report for this ascent because this ascent was merely a hike on a trail)Partner: solo

2.

Date: January 8, 2022 (Sat)Trip Report #: 511 (I created a trip report for this snowy hike since its nice to have these sorts of snowy hikes for winter exercise)Partner: solo

Route: Twin Sisters trail (~7.5 miles round trip, ~2500 ft gain/loss)

A nice hike any time of year.

From the nps website:

"The hike to Twin Sisters Peak is both challenging and rewarding. This hike features a forested trail, the traverse of a landslide, and steep switchbacks leading to a breathtaking view. The final push to the summit requires an exciting rock scramble to the top of Twin Sisters Peak East. From the peak, hikers can enjoy wonderful views of Longs Peak, Mount Meeker, Estes Cone, and the Continental Divide."

(first time summiting Twin Sisters Peaks

Below is a small sampling of photos from a solo August hike to the summit of Twin Sisters. About 2 hours and 40 minutes round trip. I did not originally post this hike on my website, but when I snowshoed to the top of Twin Sisters the following winter and posted the snowshoe I decided to post this hike as well, since it is interesting to see the difference in conditions between summer vs. winter.

(second time summiting Twin Sisters Peaks

Below is a small sampling of photos from a solo January hike/snowshoe to the summit of Twin Sisters. About 3 hours and 40 minutes round trip, with all of the snowshoe, glove, and clothing stops and parking my car on HWY 7 instead of being able to  drive to the trailhead. A good few hours of exercise on a beautiful day!
