The Future is Mine

Sponsored by The Consortium for Public Education, The Future is Mine is an active club at Steel Valley High School sponsored by Ms. Ryan Dunmire-Kuftic and Mr. Gary Goga.

Every year TFIM gives hundreds of kids opportunities to explore careers and prepare for them throughout Western Pennsylvania. Students work on team projects that connect them with employers in the community while developing skills they’ll need to be successful in the workplace—from organization and planning, to communications and collaboration.

TFIM caps the school year with an annual Student Leadership Conference, during which students from nearly 30 school districts convene in Downtown Pittsburgh to share their experiences with peers. As part of the event, regional employers host worksite visits that give kids a chance to meet and talk with working professionals about what their jobs are like and the training and pathways it takes to get them.
