In December of 2007, Tina Meier founded the Megan Meier Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, in memory of her 13-year old daughter, Megan Taylor Meier, who took her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor pretending to be a boy on MySpace. In this presentation, Tina will share her story and provide parents with information on how to talk with your children about the dangers of cyberbulling.

    • Addiction is Real is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri whose sole mission is to educate parents about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, and provide them the tools to take a more proactive approach in having these discussions with their child. Founded in 2015 by a group of concerned parents, we are determined to engage as many schools, groups, and parents as possible to push our message through. This session will include a presentation where you will learn how to recognize the warning signs of drug abuse and get prevention tips for talking with your kids about the dangers of substance abuse. The session will also include an interactive experience in the Hidden in Plain View bedroom exhibit where participants will be able to search and explore where children may hide drugs or drug paraphernalia. (for parents of all aged students)
