Getting started with Ally:
how to bring accessibility and flexibility into your course

Ally is coming to STCC courses for Fall 2021! Ally in Blackboard seamlessly makes digital course content more accessible. Join Krista Greear from Backboard for an overview of Ally functionality. Krista will cover both the faculty and the student experiences and will get you started with improving accessibility in your course(s).

Presenters:

Krista Greear brings experience in higher education, disability advocacy, and accessibility to her role as an Accessibility Strategist at Blackboard. Krista’s focus is on transforming the educational experience by building collaborative partnerships with higher education institutions to promote inclusive learning environments for all students.

Marisha Marks joined STCC in September of 2020, after seven years as an instructional designer at UMass, Amherst. Marisha’s area of interest is in accessibility and Universal Design. She is currently leading CODL course accessibility initiatives, including deploying the Ally in Blackboard accessibility tool, and increasing accessibility awareness through self-paced tutorials and workshops.
