Week of April 22, 2024

Weekly Updates:

The 5th Grade Class had some very amazing Science Fair projects this year and we received many compliments for our presentations.  Mrs. DePalma and I are very proud of their hard word.

Author Wil Mara will be visiting our school on Thursday! If your child would like to order books to be autographed, please purchase on Amazon and send into school that day.

The calendar has been adjusted.  The end of the school year is now on Wednesday, June 12th.  Please check the calendar on the St. Bart's website.  If your child will be attending Take Your Child To Work Day on April 25th, please let me know.

This Monday and Tuesday, students are having a two part math test on adding and subtracting fractions.  We will then move on to multiplication and division of fractions.

In ELA, we are focusing on text features in nonfiction.  Students will learn how authors use different features to teach others about a particular topic.  Students will be using these strategies to write their own nonfiction magazine articles.  If anyone has any olda copies of kids magazines (ie...The Week, Nat Geo Kids, etc.) please send them in for the students to use as examples.  We have also been completing some writing assignments for Earth Day - poetry and paragraphs.

In Religion, our class is working on the last ACRE quiz slides before the big test on May 2nd.  Please continue to review at home using the flash card slides on this website (see ACRE tab).  We will also have an open book Religion test on Chapter 9 (Confirmation).
