• Our 60th Anniversary Celebration will take place on Saturday, May 4. We will celebrate the 4 pm Mass with food and hospitality to follow from 5-8pm.

• There will be  a math test on Topic 9 on Wednesday. There will be no phonics or spelling tests this week.

• We will be attending the Spring Book Fair on Tuesday May 7th at 9:30.

• MAP testing will take place on Thursday (Reading) and Friday(Math) morning.

• There is no school on Monday, February 12. We have a Bishop's Holiday.

• We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Thursday 2/15. Thursday is also the Mission Fair. Students should be wearing their gym uniforms and sneakers. Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.  The Season of Advent is upon us as we get ready for Christmas. I'm  looking forward to another great week together.

• We will be having a phonics test on Wednesday (12/6) and a math test on Thursday (12/7). Our next spelling test will be pushed to Tuesday (12/12). This will be our last spelling test before break.

• November reading logs were due on Friday, December 1st. December reading logs will be coming home this week.

• We will be going to the library on Wednesday. Please return library books.

• We will be going to the St. Nick Shop on Tuesday, December 5th. Please send money in with your child in an envelope labeled with their name. Please also send in a reusable bag so students can carry their purchases. The HSA is also looking for volunteers to assist with this event. Please see the school website.

• Bagel permission slips/money are due on Wednesday (12/6).

• Wednesday (12/6) is Christmas sock day. Students are invited to wear Christmas socks with their uniforms.

• Thursday (12/7) is Comfy-Cozy Day. No slippers, crocs or other loose-fitting shoes.  No revealing pjs or nightgowns.  Warm flannel pants, sweats, sweatshirts,  fleece shirts and pants are all good choices. 

• Friday (12/8) is an 11:30 dismissal due to a faculty meeting. We will also have our school Christmas tree lighting and attend Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

• Kindness Club will be sponsoring a toy drive starting this week in memory of Ariella Hopkins. Click here to view the flyer. Thank you in advance for your donations!

• We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 27. Students should wear costumes to school on 10/27.  They should be school appropriate.  Props must be left at home.  No full-face masks or makeup that completely disguises the student is permitted.  Students who opt not to wear a costume may dress down on 10/27. The parade will start at 12 pm in the back parking lot. We will have a small celebration with our buddies just for the students following the parade. Goodie bags should be limited to non-food items with ONE snack that follows the peanut and tree nut free policy. We have 22 students in all. 11 boys and 11 girls.

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Last Friday we went to Mass for the first time with our 8th grade buddies. The students were very well behaved.  I'm  looking forward to another great week together.

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. Last Friday we had our Buddy Ceremony. The 1st graders received their 8th grade buddies. It was so nice to see so many of you there. It is one of the longest standing traditions at SBS. The students enjoyed their time together afterwards.

Your student should bring a healthy snack each day, a water bottle, and lunch as well, on full days.  Juice boxes and any other form of juice are reserved for the cafeteria only. Please be sure to include all utensils, napkins, etc. your child will need.

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. We had a wonderful first week of school.  This is our first full week together. Please check the specials tab above. Students are to wear the gym uniforms on Tuesdays.

Thanks to all of you for joining Class Dojo and returning the student survey. We are off and running to a great start. Homework starts this week. There will be a daily phonics sheet as well as math. Please return the homework the following day. Students are also required to read at least 10 minutes on a daily basis and record it on a reading log.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am so excited to meet your children tomorrow and begin the new school year!  Your student will be in Homeroom 108 and I and I will be teaching all core subjects to your child. Ms. Bianchino and I will work collaboratively throughout the year to coordinate curriculum and procedures in first grade. Please check your child's folder on Monday afternoon for a welcome letter from one of us.

I will be sending home an invitation to join Class Dojo on Tuesday afternoon. This is the best way to contact me. It works like a text message. Your messages are always private.

Your student should bring a healthy snack each day, a water bottle, and lunch as well, on full days.  Juice boxes and any other form of juice are reserved for the cafeteria only. Please be sure to include all utensils, napkins, etc. your child will need. 

• Tuesday September 5th and Wednesday September 6th are 11:30 dismissal days. Thursday (7th) and Friday (8th) are full days. All days are regular school uniform.

• Please send your child in to school on the first day with a note that indicates how they will be going home (car or bus). If there is a change to the way your child will be dismissed, please send in a note or email to indicate the change, or simply call the main office at 732-254-7105 and they will inform me..
