Year 1 Keller Class
Welcome to Year 1 CJ Keller class.
Our inspirational figure is Helen Keller. She was not held back by blindness and deafness in order to achieve great things.
She is famous for saying:
"Life is not easy for any of us. We must persevere and have confidence in ourselves. We must believe we are gifted for something and this must be attained."
General Information Year 1 Keller Class
The class PE days are Friday this term.
The children have weekly spellings and reading each night to carry out at home.
Every Wednesday afternoon, Keller Class take part in Forest School learning with Mrs Jones and Forest School Teacher Miss Hicks. We are currently developing our Talk for Writing skills and telling the story of How the animals got their markings.
We have already noticed a positive impact in children's vocabulary, concentration and story telling skills.
Please ensure children have welly boots, a change of clothes (trousers for the girls) and a warm coat and hat on a Wednesday as we spend all afternoon outside in our nature garden.
On the Farm
This half term we are learning about different aspects of farming. We have been comparing food and farming 100 years ago to today, we were visited by a tractor and are writing explanations about how to care for a farm animal.
