“The PFA aims to enrich every child’s school experience & give them happy memories that will last a lifetime”

These are our achievements to date since September. As you can see, we are a busy PFA. We all find that the work that the PFA does is very rewarding – you get to see the children’s faces light up when they achieve something new, or receive a treat they didn’t expect. We would always welcome new members so if you feel you have time – either a little or a lot – then please see one of the PFA members.

Summer Fair 2016

We had a great Summer Fair even though it rained - we just held it indoors! We had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed an afternoon packed with fun filled activities. There were lots of games including joke telling by the Year Six children! The children were involved with running the stalls are were all very pleased with their contributions. We raised an amazing total of £750 – which for a small school is incredible!! We would like to thank everyone for their support – to all the helpers, bakers, stall holders and buyers – a huge thank you from us all. We should now have enough money to take the children to the pantomime at Christmas – which was our aim. Many thanks one and all! Sally (Chairperson)

The PFA will be organising another Summer Fair this year. The date has yet to be arranged but we will be choosing a day with plenty of sunshine so that we can enjoy the games!

If anyone would like to help on the day, or donate prizes for our ever popular raffle, please contact the school.

Thanks to the PFA all of the children went on an exciting treasure hunt and were rewarded with an Easter egg when they completed it.

Pancake Day 2016

The PFA cooked pancakes with all the children on Pancake Day. The children learnt the importance of Pancake Day and then we got down to making – and more importantly, eating the pancakes!

The children really enjoyed their cooking experiences and couldn’t wait to tell their parents about it at the end of the day.

Christmas Party 2016

The PFA organised a party for the children again this year. They all had an afternoon of many different games with prizes for all! Mr Imrie even showed off some very cool moves in the dance competition!!!

Every child spoke to Father Christmas and tell him what they would like for Christmas. Father Christmas then gave each child a lovely gift and went on his way.

Thank you to our parents for providing lots of yummy food for the party.

After Father Christmas left the school, the children then spent the rest of the afternoon playing games and eating a lovely party tea.

School Disco

In October the PFA organised a school disco for all the children. DJ Shane was in attendance and all the children had a lovely time. There were sweets and drinks and some pretty cool moves on show!! There was a limbo dance, foam, karaoke and it was all finished off with the Hockey Cokey!!

Christmas Fair

The Christmas Fair was held at the beginning of December. This is a fundraising event that was very successful – raising £450 on the day. There was reindeer food to make, and crafts to create. On sale were some lovely homemade chocolates and Christmas tree decorations that each child had made – with a little help from PFA members.

Pantomime – Robin Hood

The PFA treated every child to a ticket to see Robin Hood – the pantomime – at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro on 16th December. This is a lovely festive event. The children all got involved and were shouting and jeering to their hearts content!

Everyone found an Easter Egg!

The PFA kindly organised an Easter egg hunt but before the children could have their egg, they had to follow a nature trail around the school grounds and gather clues to lead them to the eggs.

The Summer Fair – Saturday 29th June 2015

The Annual summer fair was held at Quethiock School on Saturday 29th June. The weather was fantastic. It was warm and sunny. The afternoon was filled with plenty of fun games for the children to play, a bouncy castle, yummy refreshments, nail painting, lucky dip and stalls for the adults to purchase from too!

The afternoon was really well supported and a total of £943.17 was raised – which is amazing in one afternoon!! We have also been lucky enough to get ‘matched funding’ from Vodafone earning us another £350.

This money will be used to provide the children with a trip to the pantomime at Christmas and also iPads for the children to use at school.
