ABOUT SCHEME

Kerala Government, through Kerala Startup Mission has a launched a scheme called Patent Support Scheme, where supports are provided for startups and student entrepreneurs who are able to secure a patent.

Patent Support System intends to support startup entrepreneurs and student entrepreneurs by reimbursing the patent cost including consultation fee, subject to a limit of Rs. 2 lakh per Indian patent awarded. For awarded foreign patents on a single subject matter, up to Rs. 10 lakh would be reimbursed. The reimbursement will be done in 3 stages during filing, prosecution and award. No advance Payment is considered.

• Prosecution Against Appellate Authorities

• Form 18A-Expedited examination of Application of Patent

Granted Patents

If applications are received for granted patents, KSUM would forward the proposal to MSME DIC Thrissur under MSME Patent Re-imbursement scheme (Website link: http://dcmsme.gov.in/schemes/IPRDetail.html)

Disbursements

The disbursement will be done in the form of Treasury Cheque in the name of the Startup/ student innovator or will be credited to your Account through Treasury Cheque

Time Duration for Disbursement

Files will be processed in 5 days upon furnishing of all documents in hard copies

Normally it takes 20 days for approvals & disbursements

Duration may be extended in case of shortage of funds or due to any unexpected/ uncontrolled events
