Everyone strives hard to achieve. But not always we can meet our expectations and achieve something we craved for a long time despite our efforts. We suffer from loss but we seldom learn from our journey. It is important to keep in mind that the journey abounds with harvests and the terminal of the journey... Who knows?
Several things that I see myself doing would most satisfy my beliefs and values: receiving an award, delivering a public speech, being photographed, and working in a harmonic, productive, and friendly team. When my life ends, I will regret that I didn't have a chance to ride all kinds of transportation, that I didn't exchange to other prestigious universities (say MIT) to see how students and researchers there work, and that I didn't find a way to reconcile with my high school classmate, who used to be my target and opponent. I'm most happy and most in my flow when I'm practicing a very difficult drum fill and trying to play it correctly and aesthetically. I should leave more time from work and simply play more. The issue I care most about is time management. I tend to put too much time into work and leave less time for myself. Obviously, being financially prepared helps me win more personal time. But before that happens, I should set a hard limit for myself, telling me when to return to my personal zone, and strictly follow it. This should leave me enough space for personal pursuits.
There is no constant situation and a person should not adopt a single method in this fast-changing world. The person who can immediately discover the best-fit pathway can win the game and realize his/her goal.
Brainstorm a list of adjectives about myself: digressive, reflective, creative.
Brainstorm a list of nouns about myself: problem-solver, engineer, thinker; music appreciation, multi-tasking, cross-disciplining, perfectionism, capacity in playing many sports, looking ahead of time.
Brainstorm a list of ways to effectively interact with people: talking a lot about recent news, sharing my knowings, asking questions relevant to the people, inviting them for lunches, inviting them for further meet-ups, texting them after conversations, and appreciating people's achievements.
Pick up my drum skills and guitar skills in a year. Will pick up my guitar stored in the closet and start playing something that I have played before.Â
