Danilo Dubocanin PhD Candidate, Altemose Lab Stanford University
I am a 3rd-year PhD candidate in Genetics in the Altemose Labat Stanford University and a 2024Artis VenturesFellow. My research lies at the intersection of machine learning and molecular biology. Specifically, I develop single-molecule sequencing tools and utilize them to better understand the dynamic nature of the human genome in health and disease.
I was previously a bioinformatician in the Stergachis Lab, where we pioneered the use of Fiber-seq to study centromereandtelomerechromatin states. I completed my M.S in bioinformatics and bioengineering in theVollmers Labat UCSC and was an undergraduate at the University of Washington where I worked in theMillen Lab.
When I'm not busy debugging code you can find me exploring San Francisco, skiing in Tahoe, or backpacking in the High Sierras.
