Jian Qin joined Stanford as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering in 2016. He received Ph.D. from University of Minnesota under the supervision of Profs. David Morse and Frank Bates, following which he did postdoc researches at Penn State University, with Prof. Scott Milner, and at University of Chicago, with Prof. Juan de Pablo. His researches are focused on the modeling of ionic / electronically active polymers, electrostatics in inhomogeneous dielectrics, and rheology of dynamic polymer networks. He has held the Kadanoff-Rice Fellowship and has been recognized by 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award, Hellman Faculty Award, NSF CAREER Award, ACS PMSE Arthur Doolittle Award, ACS PMSE Young Investigator Award, Tau Beta Pi (Stanford) Teaching Honor Roll, and APS Dillon Medal.
