Dear Samakee Community,
Thanks to the blooming Tabebuia Rosea trees, our school garden has been transformed into a pink wonderland this week. Their short-lived yet spectacular display has captivated the children, sparking imaginative play and joyful flower-gathering. Even attempts to catch the falling petals have been a source of delight. We'll be sad to see this beautiful moment pass.
Residentials
Get ready for adventure! The week of March 24th marks the highly anticipated Residential Trips for Years 3 through 9. Each year group will embark on exciting journeys, tailored to their age, to various locations. These annual trips are a cornerstone of our school programme, designed to foster personal growth and enrich our curriculum by challenging students in new and inspiring environments.
As our students progress, the Residential Visits are thoughtfully structured to cultivate increasing independence and essential life skills. Year 3, for instance, will enjoy a memorable overnight experience, while Years 6-9 will dive into a whole week of adventure. These unique trips offer a refreshing break from routine and play a vital role in our students' holistic development. We're eager to hear about the incredible experiences and discoveries that await them!
STEAM Week
Samakee's STEAM Week? More like STEAM-ing AMAZING! From electrifying experiments in the lab to hands-on projects in every classroom, our students have been diving deep into Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths. We've seen sparks fly, creations bloom, and minds ignite! A huge thank you to our incredible Upper School students for their captivating demonstrations. What a week of discovery!

Little Learners - Water Play
Look at that joy! Water play isn't just fun, it's fantastic sensory exploration for little ones. The feel of water, the sound of splashing, the sight of bubbles – it all stimulates their senses and helps develop crucial cognitive and motor skills. Did you know sensory play like this can also:
- Promote calmness and focus?
- Encourage creativity and problem-solving?
- Build fine and gross motor skills?
Next time your child is drawn to water, let them explore! It's a simple and effective way to learn and grow.
Year 2 - Dive into the World of Rice
Our Year 2 students are on an exciting journey to explore the importance of rice! They’ve been discovering different types of rice, learning about the rice-growing process, and even getting hands-on by touching and observing real rice grains. They also had fun dyeing rice to create unique art projects!
In the coming weeks, they'll take their learning even further—tasting delicious rice-based dishes and desserts, making khao tom mat (sticky rice with banana wrapped in banana leaves), and even planting their rice!
These hands-on experiences bring learning to life, helping students develop a deeper appreciation for this essential staple.
Year 5 - Computing Smarts Tasks
So proud of our Year 5 students! They've just completed their Computing Smarts tasks with phenomenal results. We've seen some truly inspiring videos and presentations on technological innovations that have shaped our world from GPS, Mobile Phones to Solar Power and Google. These kids are the future!
Pi Day 3.14 π
From our littlest learners in first school to our budding mathematicians in Year 9, everyone joined in the fun! Upper school students flipped their way to Pi Day perfection with pancake contests, while students delved into the history of π and discovered its vital role in NASA's space exploration! Year 3 made Pi dream catchers and Year 4 went on a Pi scavenger hunt!
Swimming success
Competed in a swim meet and achieved 4 PBs and a bronze medal in freestyle.
