Welcome to St. Agnes School!

My name is Diana Hamilton and I am very excited to serve as our school's reading specialist. I have been a part of the St. Agnes School community for fifteen years. I earned my certification as a Reading Specialist from Loyola University Maryland in 1999.

In my role as a reading specialist, I work to support and strengthen your child’s reading skills through directed, strategic instruction and practice in an extra reading class or session. On most days, I will work with an individual student or small groups of students in my own classroom for less distractibility or to administer assessments. I will be planning with your child’s teacher so that we can devise the best instruction to ensure progress and success.

One of the most important things your child can do to improve his or her reading skills is to simply spend time reading outside of school. As a parent with three grown children, I know busy a family schedule can become during the school year. Plan for reading time; build it into your daily routine. Help your child find a book, magazine or series that excites and motivates them to turn the page!
