7th Grade Homeroom, 6th grade ELA & 7B ELA
In this course, students will learn literary elements, explore various types of literature through poetry, novel studies, short stories, and passage readings. We will learn about authors and the big ideas surrounding works of literature. Students will expand their vocabulary, learn grammar mechanics, how to annotate, and middle school skills pertaining to the the writing process. The writing process will include the fundamentals of different essay types in both MLA and APA styles.
Please check Google Classroom regularly. I will regularly add assignments, assessment dates, due dates, and materials to Google Classroom.
Students are expected to come to class with materials and fully charged school-approved devices.

About me
This is my sixth year teaching. I graduated from Padua Academy, received my AS from Widener University, my BS from Neumann University, and a master's from the University of Arkansas—Grantham. I am currently attending Villanova University for a master's degree in secondary education with a concentration in English Language Arts. I focus on teaching the whole child and cultivating a love of the English language and the world of literature. I live with my family and my dog Patrick!
