At Colonial Forge, we take immense pride in our rich basketball tradition, marked by our remarkable achievement as the only school in the county to secure a state championship in 2017. Our program has consistently set the standard for excellence, leading the district in championships for several consecutive years prior to the pandemic.
The Colonial Forge basketball program, both girls and boys, has always been anchored by exceptional coaches whose resumes speak volumes about their success. They have cultivated a winning culture that inspires our athletes to strive for greatness both on and off the court.
Since the pandemic, we had faced challenges in maintaining high levels of participation and commitment. However, our mission remained clear: to reignite the passion for basketball and foster a mindset focused on achievement. We are dedicated to rebuilding our program by instilling a strong work ethic and a culture where athletes view themselves as serious basketball players, ready to pursue their goals beyond high school.
Our team is primarily led by talented women who connect with our athletes not only through basketball but also by mentoring them in life skills crucial for young women. This holistic approach empowers our players to understand expectations, build confidence, and develop resilience. Under Coach Quel’s leadership, many players have transitioned to play at the Division I level, with numerous alumni continuing their athletic careers in Division II and III programs. In the most recent years, we use our preseason games to prepare us for our conference games to make sure that we finished always within the top 3/4 of a 8 team conference no matter the experience of the team.
For those who may not pursue collegiate athletics, our program offers invaluable life lessons, helping students make decisive choices and build meaningful futures.
