Q: Do you have a favorite ice cream flavor?
A: Yes, I would say Peanut Butter Cookie Dough.
Q: For our last question, what made you decide to be a Social Studies teacher?
A: My grandma was a big part of my life growing up. She was a Women’s Army Corps Veteran and told me stories of history. It was different then just hearing about these events in school. It was different because a member of my family was a part of history. I wanted to teach Social Studies in Middle School so I could have an impact on younger teens and influence them for the better.

A: All of my jobs growing up were with kids. I worked at summer camps, soccer camps, etc. I remember working at a club called VIP (Vikings influencing peers) in college. On Friday September 17, the Middle School Staff held a dance as a fundraiser for the school. The dance had a variety of activities such as Giant Jenga, King Pin, corn hole, dancing, giant Connect Four, and food outside in the Annex parking lot. There were pretzels, pizza, cheese sauce, and a variety of drinks. It was a blast! The staff worked extremely hard to make it a success. In The “Dungeon” gym, kids could fuel their competitiveness by competing with each other in King Pin or corn hole.
Unfortunately, the festivities were marred by kids misbehaving, leaving big messes in their areas, and using foul language. There was garbage, spilled drinks, foam from the styrofoam cups, and food littered everywhere. The teachers were left to walk around and pick up after students. However, kudos to the few students that were kind and generous enough to help pick up some of the trash.
The Newspaper staff feels that the teachers deserve a proper appreciation for all their hard work that went into making this fundraiser and activity a success. The next time you see a teacher, make sure to express your gratitude!

Synopsis:
People in the Glade (a maze) can no longer remember their previous lives. They are trying to find a way out of the maze. Some people have even been there for years. Thomas comes into the Glade, and that is when things start to get odd. Just a bit later, he is joined by Theresa, the only girl in the Glade, and suddenly, supplies stop coming. They have to get past monsters and other obstacles to find the exit to the maze.
Thoughts:
The Maze Runner is a fabulous reading choice for all ages! This book is sad, but not to the point of bawling. It is a great dystopian fantasy for young readers. I highly recommend this book.
