RED Ribbon Week: We are excited to celebrate RED Ribbon WEEK!!!!

It is a district and campus requirement for students to wear their school issued ID. If you do not have an ID you must get a temporary ID and wear it for the day. This is a safety protocol. Please help us by ensuring your student has their ID each day.

Replacement ID sale- Monday, Oct. 28th- Oct. 30th- A replacement school ID will cost $2.00. It is normally $5.00. Please pay the front office and get a receipt. IDs will be printed in the Library.

Durham Daily Challenge: Red Ribbon Week- Today's challenge: Team up against drugs: Wear favorite team attire.

Div. 1: Durham vs. Forestwood at FMHS

Div. 2: Durham vs. Briarhill at Marcus High School

7th grade Volleyball District Tournament-

Div. 1: Durham vs. Forestwood at Lakeview Middle School- 5:30 . - Winner plays at 6:30 Monday at Lakeview.

Div. 2: Durham vs. Arbor Creek at Arbor Creek Middle School- 4:30 p.m. Winner will play at 6:30 pm at Arbor Creek.

Tuesday, Oct. 29th-

Today's Challenge: No Drugs in Site: Wear sunglasses.

8th grade Football Championship-

Div. 1: Durham vs Lamar @ MHS at 7:00 pm.

Div. 2: Durham vs DeLay @ LHS at 5:30 pm.

Wednesday, Oct. 30th-

Today's Challenge: Don't get mixed up with Drugs- Wear mismatched clothes.

Thursday, Oct. 31st-

Today's Challenge: Have great Character and Don't do Drugs!- Wear Halloween costumes. Please do not wear masks.

Div. 2: Durham vs. Lamar at Harmon High School: 6:30 pm. Winner will play at 7:30 pm at Harmon High School.

Friday, Nov. 1st-

Today's Challenge: Dragons are drug free! Wear Durham Spirit Wear.

Important Upcoming Events and Information:

  • Pizza with Parents: Nov. 19th from 6:30-7:30 pm. Come enjoy a slice of Pizza or 2 with the Administrators. We want to spend some time to get to know you. Looking forward to seeing Parents coming by to visit.
  • Please work with your child to ensure their academic success. Please check their grades at least once a week. Please discuss the importance of maintaining focus and turning in quality work. Dragons do their best everyday and every way.

Counselor's Corner

Red Ribbon Week begins this week. We have a Red Ribbon Speaker that will be speaking to our students on Tuesday. All students will receive tabletop conversation starters during their Dragon Den class on Wednesday. We have sent out emails concerning various Red Ribbon topics to all parents.

Meet and Treat will take place this Thursday. This is for all of our new students and staff to Durham. We will be having a party to allow all of our new students to meet each other.

CHOICES 360 is a program for all students in grades 6-12 to support them in college, career and military exploration. CHOICES 360 has many fantastic features for students and families including a variety of interest inventories, a portfolio option, college and career activities as well as tons of resources for financial aid, scholarships and test prep. The Family Center has begin their sessions. Sessions are short term, six sessions and free to any LISD student and their families. Please click here for more information.
