Band is all the time!

Your child's success is determined by the effort they put into practicing at home. Unlike an organized sport or dance, learning an instrument is completely based on individual practice at home. 

Students are expected to practice at home in order to make progress on learning the new skills required to play an instrument. 

Here are some tips for success:

• develop a routine of taking your instrument and binder home at the end of band days before you leave school

• set a consistent practice time and location within your home

• use the website (below) to help match pitch and hear what the song should sound like

• set a goal for each time you practice (number of minutes, play 5 times perfectly before moving on, etc)

• consistency is key
