An Iranian girl named Cindy moves to California when her father gets an engineering job working with an oil company. The setting is during the 1970’s when Iran was overthrown by a new government and took American hostages. America had a very anti-Iranian sentiment. Cindy tells her story about being a junior high student during this era in a way that literally had me laughing out loud.
