Launching: The St Stephen’s Weekly Book Review!

At St Stephen’s, we want every child to become an avid daily reader. Our goal is to help them develop a lifelong passion for stories that will carry them far beyond the school gates.

To help inspire each other, we are launching a weekly Book Review page! Each week, we will feature a recommendation from one of our pupils about a book they have truly loved. To help you decide if a featured book is right for your child, we will include the Accelerated Reading Book Level code with every review.

If you have read a book that you just couldn't put down, we want to hear about it! Here are some prompts to help you write your review:

• The Hook: What is the book called and who wrote it?

• The Vibe: In three words, how does this book make you feel? (e.g., Spooky, Hilarious, Adventurous)

• The "Why": What was your favorite part? Was it a twist in the plot or a specific character?

• The Recommendation: Who do you think would love this? "If you love Harry Potter, you’ll love this because..."

• The Author Connection: Have you read anything else by this author? Would you read more of their work now?

• The Rating: Give it a score out of 5 stars! 🌟

We are taking entries right now! To submit your review, simply write it up and as your parent/carer email it to your year group inbox.

This page will officially launch on Friday 6th March to mark the end of our St Stephen’s Reading Week. While the week may be ending, it marks the start of our reading revolution - keeping the momentum going and ensuring our passion for stories continues every single day of the year.
