Huge congratulations to our Year Four thespians who delighted onlookers with their wonderful re-enactment of the Easter story. Consummate acting, wonderful voice projection and all round polished performance skills were the order of the day in his stunning production. Punctuated with some rousing singing from the whole school of tuneful Easter classics, such as 'Lord of the Dance' and 'Sing Hosanna.' It was a heartwarming piece that reminded us all of the significance of this most important of Christian festivals. Thank you so much to the two Laurens from St Stephen's Church who welcoming us so beautifully and to the church team for hosting. Special thanks to our wonderful parents and carers who came to watch but most of all thank you to the children and Year Four staff team for working so hard on this amazing performance. You made us all very proud.
The team was back in action after winning the league in the knockout stage of the tournament against St Osmunds. A strong start to the game meant the girls were 2-0 up in just two minutes of match time, setting the pace for the rest of the game. A third goal followed before half time, capping off a strong first half. To follow was an even better second half with five more goals and no response from the opposition, ensuring the team's spot in the next round. A special mention to both Florence and Violet for scoring hat-tricks! And a massive well done to Emi, Sassy, Niamh, Alana, Isla, Miriam. You were all fantastic!
On Thursday our boys football team played St Mary's in the last sixteen of the Richmond Cup. Based on our previous record against them, we believed this would be a routine win. However, St Mary's gave us a really good game, taking us to extra time. The boys pushed through and persevered to win 2-0. A good job that secured our place in the next round. Well done Aydin, Alex, Peyton, Raff, Oli, Seb, Freddie and man of the match Ali.
Last week, the year Five/Six Tag Rugby team managed to beat Barnes Primary School in an epic battle. Despite being 7-5 down the team managed to battle back valiantly to secure a 12-10 victory and progress to the quarter finals of the Richmond Borough cup. The team's second half performance was outstanding and every member of the team should be extremely proud; well done Alana, Isla, Sassy, Seb, Ali, Eli, Oli, Freddie and Alex.
Last week our netball team did not make it through to the next round of the Richmond borough cup, losing 14-9 to East Sheen. The team started slowly, conceding points in the first quarter and, despite our best efforts in the second half, we just left ourselves with too much to do. We have had a great season this year, winning our league and the shield at the borough tournament. All the coaches - myself, Mr Ryan and Miss Cooper - are extremely happy with the team's efforts this season. Huge congratulations to Isla, Amy, Lucia, Eli, Violet, Sophie, Ali and Aydin.
