Sofia Grasso, Class of 2023: Congrats to Sofia on a big win at SkillsUSA National Competition summer 2022 in the area of Screen Printing. She was additionally recognized as student of the month at South Shore Tech for October for her accomplishments. Sofia now works a coop job at Hemlock Ink.
Rook Sulc, Class of 2024: Our amazing junior placed 4th in the nation at SkillsUSA National Competition this past summer. They are highly skilled and meticulous in thought both in and outside of school. Rook has a true love of learning and it shows in their work.
Harry, Class of 2017 DVC@SST Grad: Our grad, Harry was promoted to Art Director at Hill Holiday. Hill Holliday is a marketing and communications agency based in Boston, Massachusetts with offices in New York City and Greenville, South Carolina. While in school at SST, Harry loved working on computers and creating content. He was a big concept thinker and worked on complicated jobs. To wrap up his high school career, Harry helped his classmates win the coveted Shop vs. Shop Volleyball Championship.
Ronan: Ronan did an amazing job at his first animation project. The task was frame animation in Photoshop but Ronan always has to push further and tried out Adobe Premiere. He ran into some challenges not having formally been taught the program and came up with some creative techniques for a solution. He created a very subtle yet effective visual.
1st Place Design
Congrats to Liz on her 1st Place Teen Safety Poster recognition! Liz's design was selected out of over 250+ entries. Considering the principles of design, Liz created a balanced design with a soft yet sprightly color palette. Keep an eye out on the T next couple of months for her design.
Jess: Jess knocked this test out of the park. Her assignment was to communicate, by any means, her knowledge gained on the Photoshop workspace. She hand-drew all of the illustrations, found music and brought it together in Premiere Pro. Watch to see the amazing video she came up with...for Photoshop!
Liz, 11th: this is a double sided business card with the new branding for SST! This was the first project we had with our new teacher Mr. Culp. I used two applications: Adobe InDesign for the composition of the actual business card, and Adobe Illustrator to create the icons next to the information on the bottom right hand corner of the backside. I wanted to create a theme among both sides of the business card. After playing around with the stripes on the front side, I moved it onto the back as well in a larger form as a consistent element.
Kyle: This baby shower invitation was made by Kyle MacDonald, a Graphic Communications grade eleven student. What I liked about creating this invitation was how creative you could be.
