Welcome to the Homepage of Dr. Subbarao Kanchi

Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Sri Satya Sai Institute for Higher Learning (SSSIHL) Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, India.

About Dr. Subbarao Kanchi:

Dr. Subbarao Kanchi joined in September 2020 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Sri Satya Sai Institute for Higher Learning (SSSIHL), Puttaparthi, India. He received his Ph.D. in March 2018 from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India, and subsequently, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow (PDF) in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IISc (May 2017 - September 2018) and in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) (October 2018 - September 2020) in the United States of America (USA).

In the Ph.D. thesis work, Subbarao Kanchi studied the structure of dendrimers and their interactions with cell membranes and pore-forming toxins (PFTs). He also studied the electroporation inside the cell membranes and spontaneous encapsulation of bio-molecules (like protein, DNA and, siRNA, etc.) in parallel different projects. In his postdoctoral experience, he worked on the measurement of contact angles at solid-liquid-vapor interfaces, water and lipid monolayer dynamics on the curved graphene surface, and protein sequencing using silicon dioxide (SiO2) nanopore.

Dr. Subbarao Kanchi is currently teaching the Mathematical Methods for Physics (MMP), Computational Material Science (CMS), and Advance Software Lab courses for M.Sc. students at SSSIHL and his research focuses on understanding the structure of dendrimers-fullerenes nanocomposites.
