Summer Assignments
Reading:
Summer is a time of fun and relaxation, but please be sure to also find the time to prepare for fourth grade. Stay on top of your summer reading. This year’s selections are Fourth Grade Rats (Jerry Spinelli) and Lemonade Wars (Jacqueline Davies).
Fourth Grade Rats - Attached is a vocabulary and comprehension packet for this selection. Please complete it as you read the book. Be sure to write neatly and answer in complete sentences. Fourth Grade Rats - Reading Packet link
The Lemonade War - There will be an end-of-book test upon return to school. Activities based on the Lemonade War will be done in September.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING BOTH NOVELS TO SCHOOL.

Math:
It is also very important that you come to school in September with a thorough knowledge of the basic math facts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Be sure that you are able to recall your multiplication and division facts easily. Each child must complete Summer Simple Solutions and practice their multiplication facts.

Complete 3 lessons a week for 10 weeks
Each lesson will review a variety of skills learned in 3rd grade
2) MULTIPLICATION / DIVISION FACTS
These should be mastered BEFORE entering fourth grade. We strongly encourage
each child to make flash cards and review them on a weekly basis.
