Summer 2025
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Saints Peter & Paul School! I am very excited to be your child’s PreK-4 teacher this year. Along with our classroom aide, we are going to have a wonderful year together. I am passionate about teaching young children through play, music, movement, and STREAM. It is my hope to plant the seeds of a lifelong love of learning and growing as God’s children in each of my students.
I email as a way to communicate. If it is something I need to get in contact with you quickly I will call the number(s) I have on file. Please be sure to check this Google Website on a weekly basis. I will update it every Sunday to keep you informed of all our classroom happenings. Please also feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to partnering with you to make this the best possible PreK experience for you and your child.
PreK classes begin on Tuesday, September 2nd, and you and your child are invited to come to a couple of important meetings before this special day to get us all ready for a fabulous year together!
PreK Parent Meeting – All PreK 4 parents are invited to attend the SSPP PreK Parent Meeting to be held on Monday, August 25th. This will take place on the same day as our classroom visit. Our new principal and Ms. Peacock will provide you with important school-wide information. Immediately following, we will meet in your child’s classroom to discuss classroom specifics.
Classroom Visits – On August 25th sometime between 9:00-11:30 you are invited to visit your child’s classroom with your child. You will have a chance to find their cubby and desk and see all our classroom materials and toys! Please sign up here:

Please complete all the forms inside your child’s school folder that you will receive at our Parent Meeting. I would also love to have one individual photo of your child to use inside our classroom. Please bring these items with you on your Classroom Visit. Thank you!
Here are just a few important notes for you in the meantime:
Our PreK day begins at 8:00AM and ends at 2:45PM. There is after school CARES available to you. Please contact Ms. Kates at akates@sspeterandpaulrc.org for more information.
Our first full day of school is Tuesday, September 2nd.
Drop off will take place in carline with the rest of the school. You are responsible for making sure your child is unbuckled and ready to go. Carline will need to move quick.
Pick up is at the front of our school via car line ONLY. PreK will be in a separate line closest to the church. We will load 5 students in the car at a time and dismiss. The line will stop and we will load another 5 students in while the other carlines are being dismissed. This line needs to move quick as well. You are responsible for buckling in your child!
Children will need a small snack, lunch (Bento Box OR Lunch bag/box), and a spill-proof water bottle each school day. Please pack morning snack separately from their lunch and note that our classroom is NUT FREE. Thank you!
Children should dress in the school’s gym uniform everyday and wear velcro or slip on sneakers. No tie sneakers are allowed. Shorts, t-shirt, sweat pants, long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt (dependent on weather). We will have special dress up days throughout the year where your child will be able to wear their favorite or special outfits. The uniform is available at Flynn O’Hara.
Please have your child bring a backpack big enough to hold their School Folder (you will receive this at the Parent Meeting), their lunch box and lovies. Please LABEL EVERYTHING (black Sharpies work great) you bring in so we can make sure all items go home with the right student.
There will be many opportunities to volunteer in our classroom throughout the year. I will need two parents to be Homeroom Parents to help with all our special events throughout the year. If you are interested please email me or let me know at the Parent's meeting.
I will have links for my sign-up sheets on this website under the Supplies/Volunteers tab, such as Mystery Reader and/or playdough maker for the class. Please note that all volunteers must have ALL CLEARANCES on file in the school office prior to volunteering INSIDE the school. Details can be found on the SSPP school website.
During the school year our Google Site will be updated each weekend with important information so please make sure to check the site each Sunday evening. Feel free to email your child’s teacher at any time throughout the school year with any questions or concerns.
We will read two special books during our first week of school and do several activities relating to them to help us transition into our new classroom routines. Please try to read these books with your child over the summer but don't worry if that isn't a possibility. Our summer Readings for the Pre-K 4 class are:
The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown
The Crayon Box That Talked by Shane DeRolfe.
We hope you and your family enjoy the rest of your summer and again, welcome to the SSPP PreK-4 family!
