Dear Junior MRISA Basketball Participants,
On behalf of the UNIS Hanoi community, it is my pleasure to welcome student-athletes, coaches, officials, and families to the Junior MRISA Basketball Tournament. Guided by UN values, we gather to celebrate teamwork, resilience, and respect both on and off the court.
Over the coming days, we hope you will compete with courage, honor the game and one another, and build friendships that extend well beyond this tournament. We are grateful to our MRISA partner schools for traveling to Hanoi and to the many staff and volunteers whose care and professionalism make this event possible.
Please make yourselves at home on our campus and in our city; cheer loudly, play fairly, and look out for one another. May your matches be spirited, your learning rich, and your memories lasting.
Welcome to UNIS Hanoi, and have a fantastic tournament!

Dear Junior MRISA Basketball Participants,
Welcome to UNIS Hanoi: We’re thrilled you’re here! Being an athlete is special. Participating in sport and exercise is good for your growth, for your mind, and for your happiness; even when we don’t ‘win’, we win!
As you pass your time together, I encourage you to be courageous enough to reach out to others and make new connections, to play your best, and to be gracious in victory or loss. The outcome is so much less important than how you play the game.
Have a wonderful time seeking to achieve your personal best as an athlete and as a team mate!
Warmly,
Dr. Leppard

Dear Junior MRISA Basketball Participants,
It is with great pleasure and tremendous excitement that UNIS Hanoi welcomes you to the 2025 Junior MRISA Basketball tournament! UNIS has been working hard to make this event a success and we are certain that everyone will have a memorable experience. As we know, the main goal of any MRISA event is to celebrate, nurture and grow as young people and these international events allow for opportunities for our students to hone their skills and appreciate the sport. We hope the tournament will lead to new friendships being formed and that we become even a stronger MRISA family.
I would like to wish everyone a successful tournament and I encourage all athletes and participants to collaborate effectively, efficiently and warmly with each other. It is critical to take the time to develop your skills, learn from each other and make long lasting friendships. It is also important to represent your school and community with pride and be respectful of all those involved in the tournament. Again, we welcome you to UNIS Hanoi and we look forward to seeing you in person.
Have a wonderful time and thank you again,
John Zahara
