FACILITY PLANNING

The Stewartville Public School District has a reputation of providing a quality educational experience for our students. To continue this reputation and be long-term fiscally responsible to taxpayers, the School Board put forth a referendum on August 9, 2022. This was based on the recommendation of a citizen-driven Community Facility Team and work by the School District Facilities Committee. While the referendum did not pass, the School District still has facility needs to address in order to maintain our quality reputation.

Understanding that a school district is a direct reflection of the community it serves, the Stewartville Public School District continues to be committed to a strategy and direction forward that reflects the priorities of the taxpayers and meets the needs of our students and communities.

We are so grateful to our community members for continuing to be a part of the process and providing input for the district to consider as we explore the options for moving forward with our facilities.

The District intends to be purposeful in continuing to engage with our community members throughout this process. We will be inviting and encouraging community members to share their opinions and ideas regarding the future of our facilities at listening sessions in January and February. We look forward to collaborating with our residents and staff on ensuring a successful future for our school district.

In January of 2023, the District released a special edition of the Tiger Pride News, to all households, with community survey results and findings.

We will use feedback from the listening sessions and the community survey to better understand community expectations relative to planning for our facility needs.
