Bio: I was born in rural Mazeppa, Mn and from a very young age grew a passion for sports and being active. All summer long I would call friends to meet up at the ball field and we would play whatever sports were in season at the time. Like many of my students I didn't like to sit still when I was a kid. As I got into middle school and high school I continued to be very active and loved physical education. I also played football, basketball and baseball all of my high school years. However, it was my physical education teacher in high school who gave me the opportunity to be his understudy that made me realize what I wanted to do with my career. Upon graduating high school I attended St. Cloud State University and graduated with a major in PE/Health and a minor in DAPE. During that time I met a special lady who is now my wife. Some of you may know her (Hailey Liffrig) as she is the Community Ed Director in Stewartville. We got married in 2013 and now have two beautiful children. Our daughter Berkley is 3 and our son Moxson is 1 year old. This will be my 10th year teaching, I taught for 1 year in Ellsworth, 5 years in Byron and am in my 4th year at Stewartville. In 2015 I completed my Masters of Coaching in Sport/PE through Southwest State University. I have also been very active as a coach during my teaching career and have coached: softball, baseball, football and basketball. I am currently the head girls basketball coach and weight room supervisor. I look forward to growing the physical education program here at Stewartville and I look forward to meeting all of you. See you soon!
