SLC Clubs
Welcome to SLC CLUBS 2024!
We are thrilled to welcome you to another exciting school year filled with opportunities through our SLC Clubs! This year, we’re introducing a new and innovative approach to club enrollment – a lottery system. All families will fill out one Google Form with their child’s club choices to enter the lottery. This will ensure fairness and give every student an equal chance to explore their interests. Read on to learn how to register, how the lottery system works and discover the diverse range of clubs awaiting your child.
On December 13th, everyone who has registered via the Google Form will enter the lottery.
To Register:
Read the registration information, then click on the “Sign Up Here!” link below (yellow box).
You will be redirected to a Google Form.
Use the multiple choice chart to select your child’s club choices (one through six)
Fill in ALL of the required information. Please take your time to complete the information correctly!
Select “Submit.”
To be entered into the lottery, please fill out the form no later than December 13th.
If you have multiple children attending the SLC, please fill out a separate form for each child.
The Lottery:
On December 13th, everyone who has registered via the Google Form will enter the lottery.
The order of the completed entries will be randomized.
In lottery order, students will be placed into their highest ranked club choice that still has space available.
Ex. Julia selected painting club, sports club, and computer club and was randomly assigned the 30th lottery spot. Painting club has space available. Julia would be placed in painting club.
Ex. Molly selected sports club, arts and crafts, and science and was randomly assigned the 100th lottery spot. Sports club is already full, but there is space available in arts and crafts. Molly would be placed in arts and crafts.
PLEASE have a conversation with your child about how the lottery works and help them to understand they will be placed in ONE of their choices (but not necessarily their TOP choice).
Families will be notified about their child’s club enrollment by December 18th.
PLEASE NOTE: When you fill out the form, you are selecting your child’s top choices for clubs, and will then be entered into a lottery. You will then be notified (after the lottery is completed) about which club your child is enrolled in. Students will ONLY participate in one session of one club PER SCHOOL YEAR to give every child an opportunity to participate in the activities.
Important information for YMCA families:
First grade and PM kindergarten YMCA students will be dismissed from their classroom to their club at the SLC.
After clubs, first grade/PM kindergarten students will be given the choice to pick up their child from the club car line or they will be escorted by the YMCA back to ETR.
AM YMCA students will need to be picked up at the YMCA and dropped off at the SLC by 3:30 to participate in after school clubs. The YMCA does not have transportation for the AM students to return to the SLC for clubs. Parents must provide their own transportation for AM students to attend a club at the SLC. Thank you for your understanding!
