Welcome to Fifth Grade!

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! My name is Kimberly Wisneski and I am a fifth grade teacher at Sabold Elementary. I am new to Sabold this year, but not new to teaching-this will be my 17th year! I am very excited to be teaching your child and to be a part of the greatest school on earth! Our classroom is ready for the first day, and I wanted to pass along some tips and reminders so that you and your child feel ready as well.

The first two days of school are half days for students. Please review with your child how they will be getting home, especially if it is different from their normal full day routine.

Please be sure to send in the completed forms that were sent to you over the summer as soon as possible.

School supplies can be brought in over the first few days. Essential supplies for day one are pencils and markers or colored pencils. Please make sure all supplies are labeled with your child’s first and last name. Please keep the roll of contact paper at home; this will be used to cover textbooks later in the week. I am also asking parents to donate one or two boxes of tissues to get us through the first half of the school year. Donations of hand sanitizer and zip top bags of any size would be appreciated, too!

Summer reading assignments are due by Friday, September 6th, but please send it in as soon as it is complete. Each student should have one book review and one reading response to submit. Be sure your child has shown his or her best effort before submitting their work.

Students may bring in a small, healthy snack for the morning and a water bottle (water only) if they choose. Please do not send snacks containing nuts due to allergies in our hallway.

Communication with families is very important to me. Feel free to email me anytime with questions, concerns, or information regarding your child. I will respond as quickly as possible. I will also use the Remind App to communicate important information throughout the year. Please sign up for Remind text messaging alerts to keep informed.
