Dr. Karthik. D Research Assistant Professor SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur
Dr. Karthik received his B.Sc., degree in Chemistry from Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore, India in Apr-2007 and M.Sc., degree in Organic Chemistry from Periyar University, Salem, India in Apr-2009. He then worked in Sundaram brake linings, Ltd., in Chennai as a graduate trainee for a year before he moved to Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee for his doctoral degree. He did his dissertation work on the development of organic materials for dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC) and organic light emitting diode (OLED) applications under the supervision of Prof. K. R. Justin Thomas and obtained his degree in Sep-2017. Then, he moved to Prof. Jang Hyuk Kwon research group in Kyung Hee University, Seoul, South Korea for his post-doctoral work (2017-2021), where he got expertise in design, synthesis and characterization of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters and multi-resonance TADF (MR-TADF) emitters for application in high performance OLEDs. Then, he moved to Prof. Eli Zysman-Colman research group, University of St Andrews, UK (2022-2023) for his second postdoctoral work, where he exclusively focused on the development of boron-based MR-TADF emitters for application in OLEDs. Currently, herein, his research focuses on the design, synthesis and characterization of metal-free organic conjugated heteroaromatic materials. Exclusively, development of highly emissive boron-doped organic conjugated materials for OLED applications. Development of longer wavelength absorbing metal-free conjugated materials for solar cell application. Unravelling the structure-property relations of conjugated materials.
