Mrs. Roberts' 6th & 7th Language Arts

We got our "game faces" ON for Unit Test #2! I'm happy to report that ALL classes made growth from the first unit test! Way to go, Rangers!

Welcome! My name is Emily Roberts.

I have been teaching Language Arts for the past 4 years in Escondido. This is my first year here at Santa Rosa Academy and I am so excited to be a Ranger! Reading and writing are passions of mine and I cannot wait to spread my love of learning to all of my students. I completed my undergrad studies at Cal Poly Pomona and received my teaching credential through Cal State San Marcos. I live in Temecula with my husband, my two children, Claire and Grant, and our dog, Oona. I truly am looking forward to creating a dynamic partnership with you to help support your child so they become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible community members. It's going to be a great year!

Mrs. Roberts' Classroom Expectations

Come on Time: Get to class promptly! Be in your seat when the bell rings, ready to learn!

Be Prepared: Laptops should be charged, materials should be ready to go, homework completed, game face on!

Be Respectful: I respect you, you respect me, we respect each other! We are all responsible for creating a respectful and safe environment through our actions and words. ( should show the same amount of respect to the janitor as you do the CEO.)

Stay Focused: We will do HARD work this year, but I KNOW you can do it! Dig deep, develop your grit, because your education is so important. You are so worth it!

Flexible Seating: I will allow you from time to time to choose your own seating, but I reserve the right to move your seat at any time if I feel it would benefit your learning.

Bathroom: Please use the bathroom before or after my class. If you really need to, I will allow you to do so, but if it becomes an issue, I will contact parents/administration.

Every student is invited to attend tutoring sessions, however, if you have a 70% or below in my class you are required to attend tutoring sessions to provide extra support in order to help pull up your grade.

**My tutoring sessions are each Tuesday afternoon from 2:35-3:30pm. **
