Ms. Sarah Drake
Welcome!!
Hi, my name is Ms. Drake and I teach mathematics at South Portland High School. This will be my 15th year teaching high school math and my 12th year at SPHS. I have taught all levels of high school mathematics over my career and this year will be teaching Math II, Math III, and AP Statistics.
Credentials
I earned my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maine Orono in Secondary Education and Mathematics.
I then earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New England and a Certificate of Graduate Study from the University of Maine in Computer Technology Integration.
What do I love most about teaching?
Everything! I love helping my students discover and appreciate the beauty of mathematics. I also place great priority on cultivating positive relationships with students that are based on mutual kindness and respect.
About me...
I LOVE playing strategic board games such as Scythe and Gloomhaven.
In my free time I enjoy gardening, reading sci-fi/fantasy novels, and playing video games with my two children (son age 7 and daughter age 4)
