Jason has performed in over 20 plays. Some of his favorite roles include Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar at Midland Center for the Arts, Cinderella's Prince / The Wolf in Into the Woods at Pit and Balcony, Macbeth in Richmond Community Theatre's production of Macbeth, and Thomas in Center Stage Theatre's production of Venus in Fur for which Jason was awarded Best Actor at the Michigan State Festival for AACT.

Jason portrayed Pastor Aarons in the film The Heart of a Dancer. He has also performed in several short films and commercials. As a theatre teacher, Jason Applegate takes great joy in balancing his educational career with remaining active in the local theatre and film community.
