We have shifted away from raising dairy goats and now focus on raising therapy and pet goats, in addition to goats that can be utilized for natural land management. We may still have a few ADGA does and bucks available at times.  We are not organic certified, but we make every effort to utilize holistic-humane-based approaches, which include only herbal dewormers, specialty minerals, and hay products such as Chaffahye and  Hi Fiber by Lucerne Farms. (wether's feed is a little different)  We also use only hay from local farms and feed companies such as Poulin Grain (based out of Newport, VT), and Green Mountain feeds their organic line.  Our goats are housed in groups of 8 -10 in "mini-barns" with their own paddock area, grouped by purpose, personality, and family. We find this practice keeps our herd healthy and allows for successful health management. Starting in 2024, we are no longer disbudding as we feel the health benefits of leaving horns are essential for the quality of life of our goats. Castration is done after 12 weeks by a skilled veterinarian, with mild sedation to limit pain and distress. However, we have a herd of 7 bucks that I always consider one of my most well-behaved barns; I am researching more about leaving bucklings intact and utilizing them in our land-clearing operations.  I have found that my bucks maintain better overall health than my wethers.  (especially with skin issues - wethers always seem to have zinc and selenium deficiency issues) . I am also researching the inclusion of pine as a natural dewormer.
