NOTICE: All doctor’s offices now require parents to sign a consent form at their office before they will share any health information with your child's school.
SPCS nurses cannot administer medication without parental consent and/or a doctor’s order on file.
Only adults (at least 18 years or older) can transfer medication back and forth to school.
Students SHOULD NOT be carrying over-the-counter medication in their backpacks or self-administering medicines at school.
All prescribed medications (including Epipens and inhalers) should be picked up from the school on or before the last day of each school year.
For the health of all staff and students, children experiencing multiple episodes of diarrhea, a fever over 99.9° F, or vomiting should be kept at home. Students may return to school when they have been fever-free, without medication, for 24 hrs.
Families need to complete the Health History Form for their scholar(s) at the beginning of each school year.
The nursing team must be notified of ALL student allergies and provided with documentation from your child's doctor. **Alternative meals/milk substitutions will not provided for food allergies without official documentation.
Any time your child is seen at their doctor’s office, please send a copy of their updated physical, immunizations, medication orders, etc. to the school nurse. Copies can be made and sent back home with your scholar if needed.
Students entering grades K, 4, and 7 and any students new to Springfield Prep must submit a physical (done less than one year ago) and a list of all immunizations before the start of the school year or their first day of enrollment.
