With the fourth week of the third term upon it, this is a useful time to consolidate all of the conventions in place with regard to the current timetable and how assessments are being handled this term. The following infographic lays out the basics of the information that was shared in detail in the last newsletter.
Useful documents at the present moment include:
The current week’s work plans for Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12, which are shared with the pupils by Mrs Tromp at the end of each week;
The Remote Assessment Declaration, which is to be completed and submitted along with any controlled test or task completed at home;
The Grade 12 Consolidation Day Test Schedule, which sets out the assessments being completed on these days during the term; and
The Grade 12 Trial Examination Timetable, which sets out the order and length of all of the papers during the upcoming exam period.
I do hope this will serve as a quick point of reference for all the processes that are in place at the moment and clarify any confusion that our pupils and parents may have.

Thank you to the donors who have continued to drop masks off at the security post at the Springfield gates on Convent Road. We were able to donate a further 170 masks to the patients and support staff at Ceres Hospital. Matron Tilly Kunz says that the hospital is extremely grateful for any and all mask donations as many patients arrive at the hospital with no mask and simply have a scarf or an old T-shirt over their faces. The number of COVID cases they see is very high, and they desperately need masks in order to protect everyone at the hospital. If you have bought or home-made masks to donate, please drop them off with the Springfield security guard on Convent Road.
Megan Selb donating blood at the Springfield Blood Clinic yesterday.
Thank you to all the parents, past pupils, siblings and current pupils from the Springfield Community who donated at the blood clinic in St Catherine's Hall on Tuesday, 28 July. The Springfield "gees" remained strong, despite the fact that the clinic was conducted in the midst of a global pandemic! Stats from the clinic will be communicated in the next newsletter.
Please complete this Google form if you are interested in signing up your daughter for socially distanced marimba lessons.
