SPANISH Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grades 1, 2, and 3

The younger grades have Spanish once a week. Pre-K through Grade 3 Spanish is not graded. Basic Spanish is introduced through songs, actions, videos, handouts, powerpoints and vocabulary.

SPANISH GRADES 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8

Grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 have Spanish once a week and it is a graded special.

Over the course of their study of Spanish, students:

• practice the listening, speaking, reading and writing of basic Spanish through the VOCES digital textbook, supplementary materials and class activities to gain confidence and basic proficiency

• complete varied assessments in each unit of study

• revisit previously mastered vocabulary and grammar within a new unit for added practice

• understand various aspects of Hispanic culture
