Welcome to the 41st year of the Creative Summer Workshops of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools! We are delighted to provide a four-week program including the SPF Summer Instrumental Music School.

A little about the program.....

The Creative Summer Workshop was developed and is conducted by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education.  It is designed to offer a variety of enrichment for students. An experienced and talented professional staff will once again lead progressive, challenging, and exciting courses in a fun and engaging atmosphere.  The program is open to all public and private school students who reside in Scotch Plains and Fanwood, as well as all surrounding towns.

The workshops are all held at Malcolm E. Nettingham Middle School, located at 580 Park Avenue in Scotch Plains.  The courses run from 8:30 - 1pm and most courses are an hour in length.  We have a nurse on site daily.

Classes are open to students in grades K-8 from Scotch Plains, Fanwood and the surrounding communities. Our Instrumental Music Program is open to students in grades 4-9. Registration closes on June 1, 2025.

PLEASE MAKE CLASS SELECTIONS CAREFULLY.  Once registered, if a switch is requested, we cannot guarantee availability of the new class and changes will only be made at the end of each week. 

To register for the Creative Summer Workshop, please click the link below.  Please note that all registrations, regardless of paying by check or credit card, will incur a $0.75 charge PER CLASS for EACH STUDENT you register by using Payschools.  In addition, all credit card payments will incur a 3.9% fee.  You can also opt to pay by check by using promo code "Pay by Check".  Please make check payable to “Scotch Plains–Fanwood BOE” and in the NOTE SECTION please write "CSW".  The check must be received within 7 days of registering to ensure that your child retains their spot.

Please note: Our online registration system, Payschools Events charges a flat 3.9% credit card transaction fee PER ORDER TOTAL. Paying by check does not accrue a fee, however, returned checks incur a $50 charge. 

Everyone that registers is charged a .75 cent processing fee per class for each student registered regardless of how you pay. 

Mail in Check Payment Options:  Use the DISCOUNT CODE - PAY BY CHECK at checkout.  All Checks must be received within 7 days of registering or we will need to unregister your child.
