📰 Workshop on Flood Resilience in Water Sensitive Cities Successfully Conducted at SPA Vijayawada
The Department of Planning, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Vijayawada, successfully organized a One-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Flood Resilience in Water Sensitive Cities” on April 4, 2025. The workshop focused on equipping students with essential skills in urban flood risk assessment, hydrological modelling, and sustainable urban water management practices.
Led by subject expert Dr. Sathish Kumar D., Associate Professor, NIT Calicut, the sessions included theoretical discussions, case studies, and practical demonstrations using advanced tools like GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and SWMM (Storm Water Management Model).
The workshop was part of an academic initiative aligned with the Water-Sensitive & Sustainable Environmental Master Plan for Jabalpur City 2040, offering students an opportunity to develop strategies for flood-resilient and ecologically sustainable urban development.
The event saw active participation from students and faculty, with valuable insights shared by faculty coordinators and support from the Patron Dr. Ramesh Srikonda, Director, SPA Vijayawada.
