GTT Workshop on Geospatial Techniques for Transportation Planning Successfully Conducted at SPA Vijayawada

The School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada successfully organized a two-day national workshop titled "Geospatial Techniques for Transportation Planning – Softwares & Modelling Techniques" on 15th and 16th April 2025. The event brought together students, research scholars, and professionals to explore the use of geospatial tools and software like PTV VISUM and AnyLogic in transportation planning. Day 1 featured expert lectures covering fundamentals of transport modelling, demand analysis, and simulation tools, while Day 2 provided hands-on training focused on four-stage travel demand modelling, assignment techniques, and model validation methods. The workshop was led by Dr. Gajanand Sharma and Mr. V. Sai Sesidhar from IIT Kharagpur, and coordinated by the Planning Department at SPA Vijayawada under the patronage of Director Dr. Ramesh Srikonda. With active participation and engaging sessions, the workshop concluded successfully, leaving attendees equipped with practical skills and valuable insights into transport planning and simulation.
