The new computer that Kleyn is now using to teach- where is it?
It is located in C100 Pod. Why did we need it? I think the school got that new computer lab because we need higher-quality computers for students to do work, so it would help improve everything. We bought it through a $1.1 million state grant. The district plans to eventually expand this program to Sparta High School. The computers are here for us to solve problems and help us learn better with the new quality. We need technology in every classroom and in every student's and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.
If we kept the same old slow Chromebooks, it would be much harder with the slower technology, but with the new computers we can load and get stuff done much quicker. The room of computers was built on a fund from the government that made it possible for our school to do this; the teacher in charge of the room is cyln helping and giving the chance of his students to use that room for work.
The true power of a new computer room lies not in the speed of its processors, but in the velocity of the minds it unlocks. As Steve Jobs once noted, "What a computer is to me is the most remarkable tool that we have ever come up with. It's the equivalent of a bicycle for our mind."
