Omar Cruz

Omar Cruz is a senior at Sparta High School who works at Sunset in Jenison. Outside of school, he likes to stay busy working and, above all, hitting the gym; working out every day is something most people don't know about him.

Omar joined Web Multimedia with an interest in storytelling and video, and he's hoping to use the class to improve his grades this year.

As a journalist, Omar wants to shine a light on family fitness in Sparta, covering gym-related events and the local fitness community. He feels the gym scene doesn't get talked about enough, and he's ready to change that.

Fun fact: Omar's dream is to one day own his own business. He'd love to interview fitness influencer David Laid, counts "Interstellar" among his favorite movies, and can talk for hours about gym culture and the influencers shaping it.
