Maggie jacob

Maggie Jacob is a fun, energetic junior at Sparta High School who doesn't like to procrastinate on her work. She plays varsity basketball and tennis, and works for the school cleaning up after hours. In her free time, she loves hanging out with friends, watching shows, trying new foods, shopping, and listening to music.

This is Maggie's second year with The Lodown. She first took the class as a sophomore with Mr. Roark and loved it. She enjoys socializing with students and staff around the school while gathering information, and this year she's focused on improving her skills with technology.

As a journalist, Maggie wants to cover both local community happenings and worldwide breaking news. She believes it's important to approach someone else's story with empathy and accuracy, and that a good news story is engaging, well researched, clearly written, and never boring.

Fun fact: Maggie's favorite place she's visited is Puerto Rico, a trip she took with the school that opened her eyes to new culture and tradition. A highlight was taking a picture at the Bad Bunny wall — a memory she'll never forget. She hopes to return one day and explore more Spanish-speaking countries.
