Joaquin Anderson

Joaquin Anderson is a junior at Sparta High School who plays football, basketball, track, and volleyball. Music is a big part of his life too. He plays several instruments, with piano being his main passion. Outside of sports and music, he loves running and spending time outdoors with his animals; between his family's pets, they have four dogs, eight ducks, and eight cats, including his own cat, Meowmere.

Joaquin took Web Multimedia because he loves learning about his town and getting involved in his community. He's also been getting into photography recently and saw the class as a chance to learn more about shot selection, alongside improving his writing. As a journalist, he's drawn to current events and stories that interest the general public. He sees telling someone else's story as a meaningful responsibility, one that means representing every viewpoint fairly and without bias. To him, a good story presents an important issue from multiple perspectives, built around one central question, and leaves readers to draw their own conclusions.

Fun fact: Not many people know that Joaquin started and ran his own business for a while.
