Dick was born and raised in Sparta. After high school, he married Delores (Dee) Drake, and they are proud parents of three children: Dave (Nancey), Paul (LuAnn), and Roxane (Pat) Jazwinski. They have five grandsons and three granddaughters.
Dick has been an entrepreneur and independent businessman. He has been a partner in the Kenowa Body Shop, the owner of Sparta Bowling Lanes, the owner of Hob Nob, a partner in the Rogue River Golf Course, and a material damage appraiser for Action Appraisal, Inc.
Dick has experienced numerous successes since high school:

Dick enjoys golfing and fishing. He is a familiar face at Sparta sporting events and can be heard encouraging his grandchildren as they carry on the avid sporting tradition he so actively pursued.
Dick says, "Give 100 percent. Respect your parents, coaches, and teachers. Have fun in sports."
