Words of Encouragement:
"I remember every coach I had and most of my teachers very well. Positive input in someone else's life will stick with that person forever. If you want to be remembered, love people. Put aside everything and just love people. Regarding sports, remember, the purpose of sports are to enjoy them. Keep that as the primary goal at all times. Remember that we all have special gifts and have been created with unique abilities. Constantly comparing ourselves to others can lead us away from appreciating how we have personally been blessed. Let yourself be especial. Be thankful and happy with how you have been made. Additionally, good role models can be scarce. Looking up to a person who carries themselves with hone, dignity, and good character can help give us a model with which to achieve our greater potential. Whatever you do, do it well. Do it with self discipline, good character, honor, and thanks. One thing that I will carry with me until I die is from a special coach I had in Sparta, Mark Batchelder. He taught gym class and coached football and baseball. He was firm, yet affirming. His definition regarding self discipline was, 'Doing what is right and not what is wrong.' I agree and say to all, 'Choose to know what is right and commit to doing it.'"
