After college Larry played in the semi-pro baseball league in Grand Rapids for seven years and was player-manager for Absolute for three years. Larry spent 21 years in sales and marketing in the computer and finance areas. He owned a computer furniture company and worked as Vice President of Marketing for AT&T Capital.
Larry married Celia Porche in 1977, and they have three boys: Christopher, Bradley, and Joshua. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Jaycees and President of the St. Jude Parents Association. Larry coached his boys on various teams, and he plays golf whenever he can justify the time.
