In 1958, Glenn received a bachelors degree from Michigan State University and married Patricia Waldron. He received a masters degree in 1959 and started teaching the same year in Grand Rapids. He taught biology and physics and coached football and track. In 1965, he was awarded a year-long fellowship at Ohio State University and spent that year there with his wife and three daughters .
Glenn returned to the Grand Rapids area and served in the high school setting at various times as a counselor, athletic director, assistant principal, and principal. He also served as counselor and program coordinator at Grand Rapids Junior College.
Glenn's athletic endeavors include hunting, fishing, and working out at the GRCC Health Club.
Glen says, "Go for it! The relationships formed by athletes sharing the blood, sweat and tears necessary to taste victory is a fantastic experience and a valuable lesson.
